Producing a weekly podcast aint easy or cheap. If was easy or cheap to produce – then it’s mediocre – or as we refer to it in the industry – so raw.  

But the hardest part, comes after the podcast is done. The Self Promotion. 

I’m sick of self promoting, my self promoting podcast. 

And don’t you cringe and act like you’re above self promoting.

Truth be told, I can tolerate self promotion. We all do it. It’s a part of our professional lives and a means to grow our business, profile, audience and of course – FAME AND FORTUNE. 

The only type of self promotion I can’t tolerate typically comes from consultants and are accompanied by a pic of said consultant in front of a jet. I don’t buy for a second that the jet is yours. You may have chartered it. Anyone can do that for 8 grand per flying hour. But only a superb turd could take a selfie, in front of one, add a quote from Richard Branson and post it to linkedin.  

For the rest of you – let’s work together. And promote each other’s self promotion. It’s a selfless act that ultimately ends in self promotion because of the social cred gained from promoting someone other than your selfs self promotion.
