5 ways Will Smith could have used communication over violence at the Oscars.
You all watched Will Smith Slap Chris Rock at the Oscars over a joke Chris made about Jada’s hair. Was the joke lame – yes, it was. Did it deserve a physical smack down? Absolutely not. Then Smith is allowed to stay at the event, accept an award, and in his speech delivers a teary eyed, crazy ass non apology that uses love as an excuse for violence. Which by the way, was received with a standing ovation. I’m livid to say the least. Why do I care? I don’t know these people? I lead a sad life. Stay with me.
Clearly, I think Will Smith’s reaction was abhorrent. Any act of violence is.
But here’s the thing. Jada Pinkett Smith is a powerhouse of a woman. She doesn’t need her idiot husband resorting to violence to “protect her”. But if he felt he absolutely had to – he didn’t need to hit anyone.
Here are my top 5 ways he could have made a point and the headlines using communication.
Don’t even get me started about the academy’s insufficient response. Maybe I’ll get to that on the next Commical bites.
